If you haven’t been keeping up with the Don’t Worry Darling drama, Olivia Wilde is front and center in the tabloids right now. But one thing we can’t take our eyes off of is her radiant skin. In past interviews, she’s labeled her skin “combination,” as it changes depending on her stress levels and the weather, and talked about suffering from breakouts, but whatever she’s doing now is working—really well. These are six core products in Wilde’s beauty regimen.
True Botanicals Clear Nourishing Cleanser ($48)
“I use the ‘Clear’ line, which is based on acne. I used to have really bad breakouts like into my 20s. When everyone else was done with breakouts, I was still getting them,” Wilde tells Harper’s Bazaar . “I was going to dermatologists and they were like, ‘You have to use this harsh chemical, and this crazy peel, and this crazy mask.’ And I was like, surely that’s not a good idea. Now I will say, if you have a full face of makeup on, you would use the Pre-Cleanse Oil first, which you just put on your skin, massage it and follow with the cleanser. It smells so good. It’s like walking through a woodsy spa in Northern California. You want something that smells good, which adds to the ritualistic nature of the routine—you don’t want something that smells like burning tires for the sake of beauty. You can get your face wet first, but I kinda just bang it on there, and who knows if that’s the appropriate thing to do, but who cares?”
True Botanicals Clear Pure Radiance Oil ($110)
“The Pure Radiance Oil is everything,” Wilde tells Harper’s Bazaar. “This is like the gateway drug. You start on this, you’re going to be hooked on the entire line. It doesn’t make you super slippery—it doesn’t just slide right off and make you feel all gross—it goes right in. I put it on during flights and people are always sniffing because they’re like what is that magical scent? You may be wondering, why would you put oil on acne-prone skin? A lot of creams that seem super yummy and kind of moisturizing are full of a filler, and some of them have wax in them and just sit on the top of your skin. The great things about face oils is that they penetrate in. It really changed everything. I know it sounds crazy, but this oil got rid of my acne.”
Wilde also told Vogue, “I don’t use any moisturizer, I just use this—this is your moisturizer.”
Ursa Major Skincare Essential Face Wipes ($26)
“If I’m leaving a workout, and am too lazy to shower, I use Ursa Major Face Wipes to clean my skin as I hop on the subway. They clean and moisturize, which is very helpful,” Wilde told Women’s Health.
She also uses them to touch up her winged eyeliner. “What’s great is to have something like this with you in your purse so when you want to do touch-ups throughout the day, you can fix your eyeliner. Just use the corner—fixed.”
Dr. Hauschka Translucent Bronzing Tint ($29)
Wilde has pegged this buildable tint as a favorite for glowy skin. Mix it into your favorite moisturizer for a nice bronzy glow—add more to boost the intensity—and you can even use it in body lotion too for a pretty allover sheen.
“I use a little big of highlighter—I really like this RMS,” Wilde told Vogue, demonstrating how she uses her ring finger to dab it on her cheekbones and Cupid’s bow. “I don’t really use brushes; I just use my fingers because I have them with me at all times.”
We all know beautiful brows can change the entire look of the face, and Wilde calls herself an eyebrow perfectionist. “I’m an eyebrow maniac,” Wilde told Vogue. “See, I like many people in the ’90s really really really wanted to have Kate Moss’s eyebrows so I tweezed off all of mine, and they never came back. But it’s okay, cause we can fake it.“
To add volume and definition, she fills them in with pencil and often tops that with Glossier Boy Brow, but she’s also been growing her eyebrows back after “15 years of baldness.”
“I’ve been using RevitaBrow and it’s f–king working,” she told Into the Gloss. “I just want to share that small victory.”
